Crazy… 0r wise? Is a mental health crisis a ‘calling’ to grow or just a ‘broken brain’?
CRAZYWISE a new documentary explores the link between psychosis and spiritual awakening through the traditional wisdom of indigenous cultures, and tracks the new movements across the globe that are reforming mental health as a potentially transformative experience.
The film explores the growing severity of the US mental health crisis dominated by biological psychiatry, and finds a growing movement of mental health professionals and psychiatric survivors finding alternative treatments focusing on recovery, nurturing social connections and finding meaning.
