This piece was created to represent the split between a closed established system and the novel or new. The split in the centre of the painting is representative of the divide in the brain. We see the ego entrenched on the left side as a spectral figure, with it’s shadow cast on the wall of it’s prison, an open expanse filled with colour lies on the other side.
