Sol Invictus

This painting on acrylic shows the celebration of summer, while also alluding to sun worship – the transpersonal aspect of summer which is a common feature of religion throughout the world. God the sun. The name Sol Invictus meaning unconquered sun alludes to this common symbol at the root of many of the worlds religions, being the title of the Sun god of the Roman empire.

Sunfish – this sculpture in clay is a combination of a starfish and a sun, representing warmth liveliness, energy and holidays by the beach. The Sunfish wears a manic grin as it basks on its rock, symbolizing the energetic power that we feel through the summer.
